A vertical blind provides similar levels of tilt and angle seen with venetian blinds. It is possible to actually block sunlight whilst still being able to see outside, depending on the position of the sun, of course.

Vertical blinds are well suited for sliding doors and for large bay windows that are difficult to cover with other window treatments.
